Child and Maternal Support Initiative

IDAPRO successfully implemented a one-year Child and Maternal Support Initiative during the 2024 Ethiopian Fiscal Year in Addis Ababa. The project targeted highly vulnerable children and their mothers to improve child welfare, household food security, and women’s economic resilience.

Since its establishment, IDAPRO has been implementing development activities through two major projects and several short training programs.

Child Sponsorship

The first project is the Child Sponsorship Project, which has been implemented in Nifas Silk Lafto Sub-City since September 2024. The overall objective of this project is to improve the socio-economic living conditions of Highly Vulnerable Children (HVC) and their parents or guardians by improving access to essential services such as education, health, and food.

livelihood improvement and empowerment

The second initiative focuses on livelihood improvement and empowerment programs for women and youth in Nifas Silk Lafto Sub-City, which started in January 2024. The general objective of this program is to strengthen women’s economic empowerment, improve livelihood opportunities, and enhance income-generation capacities for youth.
