IDAPRO has focused

Integrated Development Action for Poverty Reduction Organization (IDAPRO) is an indigenous, non-governmental, and non-profit organization dedicated to reducing poverty and empowering vulnerable communities in Ethiopia. Since its establishment, IDAPRO has focused on designing and implementing integrated development interventions, humanitarian responses, and community-centered programs that improve livelihoods, resilience, and social well-being.

Over the past years, IDAPRO successfully implemented its Child and Maternal Support Initiative, targeting 10 highly vulnerable children and their mothers in Addis Ababa. The project provided monthly cash support, established a Self-Help Group (SHG) for the mothers, promoted regular savings practices, and provided start-up capital for small income-generating activities. Technical guidance and follow-up ensured proper savings management and strengthened group cohesion, resulting in improved household food security, financial literacy, and social cohesion among participants.

Building on the success of the first year, IDAPRO has now entered the second year of the initiative, continuing to support the same children and mothers while enhancing the program’s impact. Through these interventions, IDAPRO demonstrates its commitment to empowering vulnerable families, strengthening community-based structures, and promoting sustainable economic and social development.
